Departments

Under the direction of the City Manager, a number of departments serve the residents of the City of Toccoa in various capacities on a daily basis. This section of our website provides information about these departments and the people who man them.

The Fire Department seeks to protect the lives and economic well-being of the citizens of Toccoa from the dangers of fire and related emergencies.

The Police Department is located on the first floor of Toccoa City Hall, also known as the Toccoa Municipal Building. You can access the Police Department through its main entrance, located on Doyle St.

The Finance Department is responsible for the management and safeguarding of the City’s assets and reporting of the financial operations. The functions of the department are Accounting, Customer Service and Utility Billing.

The Human Resources Department is responsible for the recruitment, testing, selection, training and evaluation system for City of Toccoa employees.

The Community Development & Planning Department provides support for programs and activities related to the physical and economic development and the use of land in the City of Toccoa.

The Code Enforcement Department is responsible for enforcing city ordinances and codes in an effort to clean up litter and blight in our city to improve the quality of life.  The Code Enforcement Officer works with property owners to resolve nuisance complaints and make improvements in existing structures.  She also works with the City Clerk on business and alcohol license procedures and problems.

The Public Works Department strives to operate, preserve, and enhance the city's physical infrastructure. The Department provides a variety of community services including the repair, rehabilitation and general upkeep of city streets, trees, sidewalks and city structures. Personnel also provide emergency support services throughout the City.

The Utilities Department operates and maintains the city's natural gas, water distribution system and wastewater collection system with a focus on delivering high-quality drinking water and sanitary sewer services to its customers at competitive rates.
